Our Plant-based Nail Polish is made with over 80% plant-derived ingredients you’ll find in your green smoothies plus so much more! Sugarcane, corn, potatoes and cotton are just some of the key ingredients in our innovative plant-based formulation. 

Our Base & Top Coat contains AHAs (ALpha Hydroxy Acid) that are fruit-derived to strengthen your nails.

What are the benefits of Plant-based Nail Polish?

Our Plant-based Nail Polish creates a flexible film to prevent nail polish chipping and provides a high shine finish. It also protects your nail plate from staining and yellowing.

These plant-derived ingredients are a lot more sustainable to produce than the conventional petrochemical solvents and plasticisers.

Where is Julisa Plant-based Nail Polish made?

The entire Julisa range is made in an ISO-certified manufacturing site on the sunny Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. 

Julisa nail polis is certified Australian Made by the Australian Made campaign.

When did Julisa launch Plant-based Nail Polish?

We launched our first batch of plant-based nail polish online in April 2021. We’re currently phasing out the previous unit carton packaging and will aim to have newly printed outer cartons by August to reflect the new formulation.

Are all Plant-based Nail Polishes Vegan?

Julisa Plant-based Nail Polish is certified vegan and cruelty-free

However, somel plant-based nail polish on the market might not be 100% vegan and cruelty-free. While they may be made of some plant-based ingredients, other animal-derived ingredients commonly found in nail polish such as Carmine or Guanine might still be present in the formulation (read more about what is vegan nail polish here). They might also still test on animals or sell in countries where animal testing is a market entry requirement. We recommend learning more from credible sources on animal testing including PETA.org and Leaping Bunny.

Is Julisa Plant-based Nail Polish 5-free or 10-free?

Julisa Plant-based Nail Polish is certified toxic-free by Safe Cosmetics Australia. They have verified our formulation to ensure that none of the potentially toxic ingredients are present.

Ingredients we have excluded from our formulation are Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Toluene, Camphor, Benzophenone-1, Xylene, Parabens and Formaldehyde Resin.

How to apply Plant-based Nail Polish?

Apply Plant-based Nail Polish like how you would apply any other traditional nail polish.

First, thoroughly clean your nails with nail polish remover so no oil films are present. Wash and dry your hands.

Apply a thin coat of our Base & Top Coat and leave dry for 1 minute. Apply a thin first coat of your chosen Julisa Plant-based Nail Polish colour. Leave dry for 5 minutes. Apply a second coat of your Julisa colour. Leave dry for 5 minutes.

Apply a thin coat of Julisa Fast Glass Top. Your manicure should cure in under 5 minutes.

What is the consistency of Julisa Plant-based Nail Polish?

Julisa Plant-based Nail Polish has a beautiful buttery consistency that is quite thin, making it streak-free to apply. Consistency varies slightly across the range.

How long does Plant-based Nail Polish last?

When used with our Base & Top Coat Plant-based Nail Polish on clean nails, Julisa Nail Polish typically lasts 4 to 5 days until the first sign of chipping.

How to remove Plant-based Nail Polish?

We recommend removing our Plant-based Nail Polish with our Natural Water-based Nail Polish Remover. Our acetone-free formula is enriched with bamboo extracts to nourish your nails while leaving them clean. 

Other conventional nail polish remover with acetone also works to remove our Plant-based Nail Polish, please perform a test beforehand.

Is Plant-based Nail Polish kid-friendly?

Our Plant-based Nail Polish is certified Toxic-free by Safe Cosmetics Australia and free of Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP), Formaldehyde, Toluene, Camphor, Benzophenone-1, Xylene, Parabens and Formaldehyde Resin, making it a clean choice for the little mermaids. 

Being a solvent-based product, our nail polish carries a slight solvent smell. Our Natural Water-based Nail Polish Remover is odourless.

Please seek medical advice specific to your medical conditions. Always supervise children under 12 year old when using nail polish. 

What is the shelf life of Plant-based Nail Polish?

24 to 36 months unopened when stored in a cool and dry place away from sunlight.

9 to 12 months once opened.
